William P. Hobby Airport

Our city's second largest airport, William P. Hobby (HOU), has been serving the Houston community for more than 80 years and will become an international airport by 2016.

Hobby Airport is located approximately seven miles south of downtown Houston, near I-45/Gulf Freeway, the major highway heading from the City to NASA and Galveston Island.

The airport is operated and maintained by the City of Houston Department of Aviation. The Houston Airport System functions as an enterprise fund and does not burden the local tax base for airport operations, maintenance or capital improvements.

Airline Information

William P. Hobby Airport (HOU) is presently served by five scheduled passenger airlines. 2014 marked record high numbers with over 11 million passengers traveling to HOU.

Hobby Airport's largest air carrier is Southwest Airlines. Numerous other carriers also offer domestic air service through Hobby Airport. All of Hobby's airlines are located in its convenient terminal building.

Only U.S. destinations are served through Hobby. All of Houston's international air service is flown from George Bush Intercontinental Airport.

Parking at Hobby

Public parking is available in a four-level garage which connects conveniently with the terminal building .

Additional parking is available in the ecopark 2 lots , which are within walking distance of the terminal and offer FREE shuttle service to/from the airport terminal.

Ground Transportation

Visitors to Hobby Airport have a variety of transfer and transportation options available to them once they arrive in Houston. This includes taxis, limousines, SuperShuttle shared-ride, scheduled ground transportation shuttles, hotel/motel courtesy vans, and even public (METRO bus) transportation. Services can take you to your nearby or downtown hotel or wherever your local travel takes you to in the surrounding area. Shuttle service is even available to Galveston and the various cruise ship ports of embarkation.

Shuttle services are available at the curb side outside of the baggage claim area on the lower level.

Courtesy Shuttles

Courtesy vans are operated by the various hotels / motels in and around the airport. Use the courtesy telephones in the baggage claim area to request pick-up for most hotels / motels in the airport area.

Coutesy shuttles are also available for rental car companies and off-airport parking lots.

SuperShuttle Shared-Ride Service

SuperShuttle now provides ground transportation services at George Bush Intercontinental and William P. Hobby airports.

SuperShuttle takes reservations and picks-up travelers at their homes or businesses and transports them to the airports and vice versa. Walk-up service is also available. Just visit the SuperShuttle booth located in the baggage claim area.

The Houston Metropolitan Transit Authority (METRO) offers bus service available at Curbzone 13 outside of the baggage claim area in the lower level.

George Bush Intercontinental Airport

Our city's largest airport, George Bush Intercontinental (IAH), joined the Houston Airport System in June 1969.

Bush Intercontinental is located approximately 23 miles north of downtown Houston, near the Sam Houston Tollway (Beltway 8 North)

The airport is operated and maintained by the City of Houston Department of Aviation. The Houston Airport System functions as an enterprise fund and does not burden the local tax base for airport operations, maintenance or capital improvements.

Airline Information

George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH) is presently served by 21 scheduled passenger airlines in addition to numerous passenger charter airlines also operate through the airport.

In 2013, nearly 40 million passengers were served by Houston's largest airport. This convenient passenger gateway is the largest hub for United Airlines as well as numerous other carriers that offer nearly 200 domestic and international destinations through nonstop flights from IAH.

An expanding portfolio of air routes and destinations promise to keep Bush Intercontinental Airport as the South Central United States' air transportation gateway to the world. The airlines operate out of the airport's five terminal buildings (A, B, C, D and E).

International Travelers : Please note that all international arrivals are processed through the
Federal Inspection Services (FIS) Building at Terminal E .

Parking Options at IAH

The airport has over 25,000 parking spaces and parking rates that are among the lowest anywhere in the country.

The Houston Airport System also operates ecopark, the city's economy lot, which provides parking at the corner of Greens Road and John F. Kennedy Blvd., with free shuttle service to the terminals.
